Walking Spanish  —  “What If You Knew My Name?”

“Jackie Greene’s little bro Alex Nelson proves that talent runs deep in this Placerville / Sacramento family! The second album by his band Walking Spanish is so strong that we had trouble choosing which track to include on this CD, but we finally settled on ‘What If You Knew My Name’ (on which Jackie plays organ).” – Rosalie Howarth

Victoria George  — “Forever”

“Victoria George has the enviable skill of sounding effortless at everything she does, be it country, rock or breezy pop music…this North Bay native simply knows her way around a good tune. Her latest album Lately, I is one of my favorites of this year…so there!” – Irish Greg

The Mother Hips — “White Falcon Fuzz”

“A quintessential San Francisco band!  Tim Bluhm met his original bandmates at Chico State almost 20 years ago, but they relocated to SF in 1996.  Their style has varied over the years, from acoustic ballads to complex compositions, shorter pop numbers to a touch of twang, and back to their rockin’ roots.  We are honored to include ‘White Falcon Fuzz’ from 2009’s Pacific Dust on Local Scene 8.  And there’s a family connection too…” – Rosalie

Nicki Bluhm  —  “Before You Loved Me”
A few years into her musical career Nicki Bluhm as already shared a stage with Josh Ritter, Jackie Greene, Phil Lesh, Pegi & Neil Young, Butch Walker, and Leon Russell.  Peter says, “I saw Nicki play a house concert right after she’d released her CD, then found out she’d been added to the lineup for Outside Lands.  It’s an exciting time for her, couldn’t happen to a nicer person.”
