“We are incredibly honored, humbled and excited to win “Best Americana Album” at the 64th Grammy Awards among an incredible group of fellow nominees!”
Steve upon accepting the band’s 4th Grammy award in its storied career:
“The concept of this record was gratitude. It was a thank you to the city that we started in and the artists and records that inspired us to try and make a living out of this. I think it’s an important concept and I just want to thank everybody who had anything to do with our career. Next year will be 50 years – it’s amazing to think about and these things never get old, so thank you.”
This makes the 4th for the band, following 1984’s Best Mexican-American Performance for “Anselma”, 1990’s Best Mexican-American Performance for “La Pistol y El Corazon”, and 1996’s Best Pop Instrumental Performance for “Mariachi Suite”, from Papa’s Dream.
